University Projects 2014 - 2015

StartUP UNT - Founder
Seeing a need in my university for entrepreneurship students to connect outside of the classroom, I wanted to provide opportunities for peers and community entrepreneurs to collaborate. Once the Murphy Center for Entrepreneurship was shut down due to funding issues, my goal was to provide students resources that the center previously offered, such as legal council and scholarships. After preparation and recruiting, we launched the new student organization, StartUP UNT, in the Spring of 2015. It grew and flourished within its first semester, gaining student leaders and attracting attention from departments across the university. This project section contains a summary of elements we worked on during our first semester.
-
Organization structure shows our constitution, by-laws, and leadership structure.
-
Main event contains the flyer, program, and pictures from our first focus -
a campus-wide idea competition and organization networking event.
-
Welcome Letter, Org Plan, & Fundraiser provided documents for members.

Business Policy
Business Policy is the capstone course at UNT which all business majors must take in their last semester. We were assigned to a team of students with different majors within the business school. We completed company case studies including research, reports, and presentations. Our goal was to align an industry environment with the company's strategy. I contacted the members of previous case competition winners to ask if they had any tips or advice. The responses I received are shown through the "Tips" button. You may look over my team's reports and presentations for two of our case studies in this section.

Advanced Entrepreneurship
Advanced Entrepreneurship is the capstone course for students majoring in entrepreneurship. This course contained many projects, some of which are available to view by clicking on the buttons in this section.
-
The entrepreneurial audit was a group project, where my team analyzed an apartment development company and made strategic suggestions based on research and a personal interview. Our presentation is located next to the audit below.
-
The bug report identifies three problem areas and creates potential businesses from each, followed by a feasibility analysis for each idea.
-
In the nterview, I asked a successful business owner questions, analyzing their process and business life cycle.
-
The insights paper talks about what I've taken away from each of the projects completed throughout the course.

Delta Sigma Pi: Transitioning from College to Career - Professional Networking Event
As the elected VP of Professional Activities for the pledge class, I decided to coordinate the first dinner + panel professional networking event. I resourced a list of the companies who attended the career fair at UNT. They were recruiting UNT students, so I reached out to obtain sponsors and discussion panelists for the event.
-
Correspondence- Provides the email format between me and the corporate recruiters.
-
Panel Application- Receiving a large amount of interest from multiple corporations, I made a panel application in order for the members of the fraternity to choose who they wanted to hear from.
-
Invoice- 10 corporations sponsored and attended the event. The invoice form is in this section. Their sponsorship allowed me to secure the event location, have dinner catered from UNT, and a dessert custom made with the fraternity colors from a local entrepreneurial vendor.
-
Program Cover & Insert- The programs I created contain all sponsor recruiters and corporation information with room for notes. After moderating the evening, many fraternity members talked about the connections they made and how much they appreciated this unique event!

A Grave New World - Short Film
My philosophy of science and technology professor assigned an open video project. Having a love for filmmaking, I decided to turn this project into a full-fledged short film production. My team was onboard! We wanted to do a narrative film of an issue relevant to an audience we are familiar with. We explored the controversial nature of the pharmaceutical companies sale of drugs, and the result of certain medications spreading through schools. I recruited an advanced film student that allowed us access to professional equipment and connected the project with a student crew. My musician connection composed an original score for the film, and I got permission to use the music of a local band, Marquis of Vaudeville, who have been featured in shows like Dexter, Charmed, and Melrose Place. We worked together conceptualizing the story and editing the script.
-
Casting Flyer- The main actor I cast after seeing his brilliant lead performance in a UNT play.
-
Donation Request- 8 restaurants recruited to donate food for our production sets.
-
Brochure Prop & Movie Poster- My artist connection created the "Aditol" logo and the symbolic poster artwork.
-
The final cut of our short film is available to view!
